1. Minimal Data Collection

Parallel Reader is designed to be privacy-friendly. We do not require you to create an account, provide your email, or create a password to use the core features of the application.

2. How We Use Data

• Vercel Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to understand how our website is used (e.g., which pages are popular). This service is cookie-free and does not track your browsing history across other websites. It aggregates data anonymously.
• IP Addresses & Security: We do not store your raw IP address. We store a cryptographic hash of your IP address strictly to enforce daily usage limits (api quotas) and prevent abuse. This hashed data cannot be used to identify you personally and is reset daily.
• Local Storage & Cookies: We use local storage and functional cookies to save your preferences (e.g., remembering your target language). This ensures a smoother experience when you return. This data is not used for tracking or advertising.

3. AI Processing

When you generate a story, your topic and language preferences are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate the content. We do not send any personal identifiers with this request.

4. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data like names or emails, we generally cannot associate usage data with a specific individual. However, you have the right to clear your local data at any time by clearing your browser cache.
